Tucked beneath the streets of Warwickshire, England, Hush—a new private members club developed by Leam Properties—has opened its doors.

With interiors by Black Ivy Design, the intimate venue channels the glamour of the Roaring Twenties through a modern lens.

A journey back in time

From the moment guests descend into the low-lit, velvet-lined space, they’re transported to an era of jazz-soaked soirées and clandestine charm.

“The client envisioned a space that would capture the spirit of the 1920s, but with the refinement and comfort of today,” says Leanne Armstrong, founder and creative director of Black Ivy Design. “We wanted every detail to feel intentional, every element to tell a story, and the result is a space that feels intimate yet spectacular.”

The crucial role of lighting at Hush

Lighting takes centerstage in this moody retreat, where layered fixtures transform the club’s low ceilings, initially seen as a limitation, into an architectural asset.

A warm, golden glow emerges from a mix of uplighting, hidden LEDs, sconces, and vintage-style pendants, setting the tone for a transportive experience. Fluted glass diffuses light across the room, casting subtle Art Deco patterns that shimmer against the plush surfaces.

“The lighting became the backbone of the mood,” Armstrong explains. “We wanted guests to feel cocooned, like they’ve stepped into another world.”

Tactile design

Texture also plays a starring role, with tactile materials and jewel-toned hues enveloping guests in a sensory cocoon.

Rich velvets, chenille wallcoverings, and fluted detailing infuse the space with a mix of drama and softness, while deep navy blues and crimson reds nod to the decadence of the era.

Marine & Lawn Hotels & Resorts expands its portfolio with the debut of Portrush Adelphi, a 34-room property located in the heart of the seaside town of Portrush, Northern Ireland.

Following its acquisition in 2022, the hotel underwent an extensive restoration led by AJ Capital Partners’ in-house design team. The result is an atmosphere inspired by the rich heritage, natural beauty, and golfing traditions of County Antrim.

Guests are welcomed by a lobby featuring rich mahogany herringbone floors, stately columns, lush greenery, and an open fireplace—a cozy centerpiece for colder months.

Each guestroom showcases jewel tones, bespoke furnishings, and thoughtful amenities. Tartan upholstery and cable knit throws layer warmth and texture onto moody deep blue and green hues that evoke the region’s lush landscape. Bathrooms continue the land-and-sea theme, adorned with vibrant green tiles and custom wallpaper that nods to Ireland’s “Emerald Isle” nickname.

The Red Sail Room

The Red Sail Room, a newly imagined high-end Italian dining concept, aims to attract both guests and locals.

The space pairs authentic traditions with contemporary elegance, featuring oak leaf wallpaper, whitewashed wood paneling, oil paintings of the local coastline, and deep maroon velvet banquettes.

Portrush Adelphi joins Marine & Lawn’s growing collection, which includes Slieve Donard in Newcastle, County Down; Rusacks St Andrews; Marine North Berwick; Marine Troon; and Dornoch Station Hotel.

Perched on the eastern foothills of Santorini’s ancient Thira mountain overlooking the seaside village of Kamari, the new Sandblu resort is now open for its first full season.

The 66-room property, designed by Rockwell Group, embraces bold geometric architecture that appears to cascade down the rugged landscape toward the Aegean Sea, creating an organic connection between cliff and coastline.

Sandblu leans into Greek minimalism

The resort’s palette takes its cues from Santorini’s natural beauty, with whitewashed woods, local stone, marble, and vibrant accents of blue and sage reflecting both the sea and vibrant bougainvillea.

Inside, guestrooms and suites channel a modern Greek minimalism. Many accommodations feature outdoor terraces and private plunge pools, framing sweeping sea views. Three multi-bedroom villas are complete with expansive living spaces, kitchens, and private terraces with infinity pools.

Dining experiences and amenities

Sandblu’s immersive design philosophy carries through to its six dining venues, which each offer a distinct atmosphere.

From the alfresco charm of Nectar to the indoor-outdoor energy of Plateia, every space deepens the connection to the surrounding landscape. Meanwhile, a new outpost in Imerovigli extends Sandblu’s DNA to a dramatic clifftop perch overlooking the caldera.

Wellness is also woven into the Sandblu experience, with a modern fitness center along with the Aurora Spa comprising eight treatment rooms, an indoor pool, sauna, and a range of holistic programs.

Layered textures create visual and tactile depth—soft textiles and polished woods meet luxe materials like leather, ceramic, straw marquetry, and Calacatta marble, which is prominently featured in the main suite’s private bath.

The yacht’s furnishings blend client-owned pieces with newly sourced creations, all unified by a natural color story. A soothing base of white, tan, and mahogany tones is punctuated by vibrant blue accents that mirror the sea and add a sense of tranquility.

Commissioned works from established and emerging artists—including Roi James, Sougwen Chung, and Ula Saniawa—appear throughout. Many of the pieces depict organic forms and marine-inspired motifs.

An effortless connection with the sea

Expansive windows and a series of panoramic decks—including the Oasis Deck, which offers 270-degree views and fold-out wings at the water’s edge—invite in natural light and encourage connection to the sea.

The open-plan main deck fosters social interaction, while the full-beam suite serves as a serene retreat, complete with a private balcony and outdoor shower.

“At the core of both yacht and residential design lies a shared philosophy: the creation of spaces that celebrate connection and comfort,” says Marie Soliman, creative director and cofounder of Bergman Design House. “Both types of projects nurture relationships, whether through intimate dining areas or expansive lounges crafted for leisurely gatherings. Ultimately, regardless of the medium, our guiding principle remains the same: to design environments that enrich lives and reflect the spirit.”

Real estate developer Crescent Heights has unveiled Crescent Seas, a new concept in luxury living at sea. The oceanic community will officially launch with Navigator, a reimagined residential cruise ship set to debut in December 2026.

In partnership with the ship’s owners, affiliates of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings, Crescent Seas is investing more than $50 million in refurbishing the Navigator. The transformation is led by Lissoni & Partners, Journey, and MAWD, which will each shape distinct aspects of the vessel’s design.

Crescent Seas’ first residential cruise ship

The Navigator will feature 210 residences, priced from $750,000 to $8 million, with exclusive amenities such as white-glove butler service and Starlink internet for remote work and schooling. Unlike conventional cruises, Crescent Seas will offer extended, immersive voyages across all seven continents, with two- to three-day stays at each destination.

“After spending so much time on the seas, we noticed that travelers yearned for more,” says Russell W. Galbut, a founding partner of Crescent Heights. “People on the ships kept telling us they wanted to live this luxurious lifestyle. So, we decided to select ships with the right configurations to convert to the most magnificent cruising yachts.”

He continues: “With most of the earth’s surface covered by water, it only felt right to use our 50 years of development expertise on land to create the most magical residences at sea. Why vacation to just one gateway city when you can be at home and live in all the greatest gateway cities around the globe?”

The ship’s hospitality and operations will be maintained by its existing crew and the Apollo Group to ensure seamless service at sea.

“After hand-selecting this ship, we hired the same experienced management teams to operate the ship for the first 10 years of operations,” Galbut adds. “We are delighted to be able to provide luxury homes to people that will carry them to places they’ve only dreamed of.”

Residence sales are now open to the public. Crescent Seas plans to launch four additional luxury residence ships over the next five years.

Maison Heler, the latest hotel from visionary designer Philippe Starck, has debuted in the Amphitheater district of Metz, France.

The hotel comprises a monolithic nine-story base topped with a reimagined 19th-century Lorraine mansion—an architectural approach that anchors the property in both fantasy and local heritage.

Inspired by the Meticulous Life of Manfred Heler, a fictional narrative authored by Starck, the property serves as a living extension of its imagined protagonist’s world.

Inside the world of Manfred Heler

Maison Heler’s 104 guestrooms and suites span seven floors and reflect a minimalist ethos that emphasizes material integrity. Expanses of marble, sliding mirrors, and plush carpeting are juxtaposed with exposed concrete ceilings and warm leather accents.

Starck describes the rooms as “an almost Spartan spirit, stripped of any superficiality, where each material asserts its own color: the white of cotton, the gray of concrete on the ceiling and walls.”

Throughout the hotel, fantastical touches nod to Jacques Carelman’s Catalogue d’objets introuvables, with installations of crystal hammers, plaster anvils, and other sculptural curiosities integrated as both art and artifact.

These playful design moments extend into the guestrooms, where guests encounter hidden puzzles, ancient coins, and scattered quotations—subtle gestures meant to spark introspection and curiosity.

Public spaces continue the narrative, starting with La Cuisine de Rose, a brasserie on the ground floor that layers bright white and soft pink hues with carbon-toned furnishings and whimsical décor, including a suspended origami airplane and imagined inventions framed as art.

The top-floor restaurant, La Maison de Manfred, offers a contrasting aesthetic. Intimate and rustic, the space features terracotta finishes, natural woods, and 19 custom stained-glass windows by multidisciplinary artist Ara Starck. A monumental panel doubles as a light source and centerpiece, casting ambient hues across the dining room.

Maison Heler also boasts more than 3,230 square feet of flexible event space, including five customizable meeting and dining rooms, along with terraces and rooftop gardens with sweeping views of the city.

Following the successful launches of the Standard, London in 2019 and the Standard, Ibiza in 2021, the hotel brand is set to unveil its latest European outpost this spring in the heart of Belgium’s capital: the Standard, Brussels.

Part of the ZIN redevelopment project in Brussels’ Northern Quarter, the project reimagines the city’s former World Trade Center into a dynamic mixed-use complex with residential, office, and hospitality components. The Standard, Brussels anchors the transformation with 200 guestrooms and a playful, design-forward identity rooted in the city’s architectural legacy.

The hotel’s creative direction is a collaboration between the Standard’s in-house team, led by chief design officer Verena Haller, and Belgian firms Jaspers-Eyers Architects and Bernard Dubois Architects. Together, the design teams blend brutalism with an unexpected warmth and whimsy, a nod to Brussels’ architectural seriousness and underlying playfulness.

A retro-modern vibe at the Standard Brussels

Throughout the interiors, including the guestrooms, rich hues, natural materials, and rounded forms draw inspiration from 1970s American modernism, postmodern Japanese influences, and Belgian Art Nouveau—particularly the work of Henry van de Velde.

A layered, retro-modern vibe permeates the spaces, including intricate wood millwork, dramatic curtains, and playful circular motifs, while patterned carpets evoke the boldness of the 1980s.

The lobby—anchored by a vibrant bar and connected restaurant—is designed as a social hub, effortlessly shifting from a daytime lounge to a nighttime hotspot.

At street level, a botanical garden offers a moment of natural calm in the urban fabric.

Dining and extended stay

The Standard, Brussels will debut three dining venues, including Double Standard, a ground-floor restaurant serving Belgian and American bar fare; and Lila29, a sky-high restaurant and bar on the 29th floor with sweeping city views.

A first for the Standard Hotels brand, the property will also introduce extended-stay suites designed with living areas, kitchenettes, and workspaces to offer a residential feel for long-term guests.
